Well just to update you guys, I didn't go!
Unfortunately I developed an extreme case of IBS moments before we were due to leave.
Thats the good news... but the bad news is that my wife took the kids and told me that I am slipping. She must have mentioned it to one elder, a bloke I could never stand, complete ponce, who had the nerve to call me last night and ask me if there was anything wrong. I told him that it wasn't any of his concern, or, to put it more accurately, 'I really don't think that is any of your concern'.
He then told me that it was the job of the elders to 'look after the flock' yadda yadda yadda so he will be calling around my house tonight with another elder to 'see where the root of the problem lies'. This is it folks. My old life is about to be thrown down the toilet. I no longer believe - I am living a lie. I have to rescue my kids from the clutches of this monster before it's too late. Wish me luck.

Renting movies, did you really chose what was OK for Christians to watch?

i remember at the hall, there was a speech where the brother said that 90% of movies weren't for christians.
the way he talked, about 90% of movies had sex in it or violence or anything that christians shouldn't watch.. funny thing is that every time i was invited to watch a movie with the jw's, there was plenty of violence in the movie they chose, and it didn't seem to bother them whatsovever.. gee, i rented lots of movies with sex and violence, and it didn't bother me at all.
